- Next week there’s a conference in Helsinki: “Rationality in Perception: Transformations of Mind and Cognition 1250-1550” (December 12-14, 2019).
- This coming January, there will be a conference in London on “The Intercultural Roots of Early Scholasticism: Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Latin” (January 23-24, 2020).
- The Aquinas Center at Ave Maria University is holding a conference on Thomas Aquinas and the Crisis of Christology (Florida, Feb. 7-18, 2020).
- In April, at St. Andrews, there’s a workshop on “Theories of Paradox in the Middle Ages” (April 28-29, 2020). Cfp deadline February 1, 2020. [Date corrected from original post.]
- There is a conference on vernacular philosophy in the later Middle Ages this coming May at the Universidad Complutense (May 11-13, 2020, Madrid). Cfp deadline December 15, 2019.
- Also in May, there’s a conference in London on “13th Century English Franciscan Thought” (May 29-31, 2020).
- The Avicenna Study Group will meet in Germany next June, with the goal of assembling presentations on all eight of Avicenna’s main works (Trier, June 3-5, 2020).
- There’s a conference at Leuven in June on “Essence and Existence in the 13th and 14th Centuries” (June 5-6, 2020). Cfp February 15, 2020.
- “After Avicenna,” a conference on post-Avicennian Islamic thought, will be held in Finland this coming June (June 5-7, 2020, Jyväskylä).
- Next June in Greece there’s a conference on The Reception of Plato in Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages (Athens, June 8-9, 2020). Cfp December 15, 2020.
- The 24th annual colloquium of the SIEPM will take place in Porto this coming June, on the topic “Per cognitionem visualem. The Visualization of Cognitive and Natural Processes in the Middle Ages” (June 18-19, 2020). Cfp deadline February 1.
- Marquette University is holding a conference next summer on Causes and Causality in Aristotle and the Aristotelian Tradition (June 22-24, 2020). Cfp deadline March 1, 2020.
- The European Symposium of Medieval Logic and Semantics will meet in Warsaw this coming June, under the topic “Time, Tense, and Modality” (June 22-25, 2020).
- There’s a conference in the Netherlands next fall on “Complexio across Times and Disciplines” (Nijmegen, September 10-11, 2020). Cfp deadline January 15, 2020.
- There’s a conference next September in Poland on “The Will and Its Acts in Late Medieval Ethics and Theology” (Łódź, September 24-25, 2020). There seems to be no information on the internet, as of yet, but interested parties should contact Monika Michałowska.
- The Society for Medieval and Renaissance Philosophy is, for the first time, holding its own multi-day conference. The inaugural location is the University of Notre Dame (Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2020, South Bend, Indiana). Cfp deadline February 1, 2020.
