Opportunities of various kinds

  • a lectureship in late ancient/early medieval philosophy at King’s College London [application deadline March 15]
  • a prize for a monograph or PhD thesis on Aquinas’s philosophy or theology published since 2010, for scholars under the age of 35. See here for details. [This looks a bit weird, I realize, but Therese Cory tells me she won last year! Unfortunately, I’ve been negligent in posting this, and the deadline is now just a few days away: February 28th. Not enough time to finish the book you’re working on.]
  • a 3-day workshop this summer, for faculty and grad students, at St. Thomas [MN] on “Classical Theism.”  Lots of distinguished medievalists are involved, and they’re hoping for applicants from folk working in medieval. There is good funding for participants. [Again, I’ve been negligent in posting: the deadline is March 1.]

2014 Books

A year ago, I listed 102 books from 2013. In my previous post I listed an additional 32 from 2013. Here now are 140 books on medieval philosophy from 2014.

Apologies as always for omissions and errors (both of which there doubtless are). The order of the books is completely random, which I find amusing, though I expect it will mainly annoy others.

It turns out there are so many books published in our field every year that I expect you’ll find that even reading through the list counts as a significant achievement. To say nothing of compiling the list. For help with that I owe thanks to Druart’s Islamic bibliography, the bibliography at Philosophia Medii Aevi, the SMRP newsletter, and Pariscope médiéval. (Special thanks as well locally to Lisa Guinther.)

Feel free to send additions and corrections to this list, or information about 2015 books.
